HamBone College Technician Class Course Information
The DBARA HamBone College (HBC) Team will start another Amateur Radio Technician Class license course ??, ??, 2010. See Point of Contact (POC) for information. The course is FREE. Students will need to obtain the textbook: ARRL's Technician Class License Manual. You can purchase the book directly from the ARRL online or by phone. The price is $24.95 plus shipping. The class will be fast paced. Students will be expected to prepare for each class by reading one or more chapters in the textbook in advance of each class. The class is not intended to be make an electronics expert out of you but give you the basic practical communications communication skills needed to get your license. The class will focus on the theory covered by the test including methods of solving the math questions. Class time will also be devoted to helping students to understand those topics with which they are having difficulty. This course has several demonstrations planned into it to provide the student with some hands on training and familiarization with various brands of equipment before you gain your license. Students are encouraged to make use of the HBC Student Yahoo Group electronic mail program to ask questions, keep up to date on potential date changes and use it as a learning aid or tool.
