"when you pass the test you have just begun the journey"

Congratulations to everyone who took and passed their new and upgrade license exams Saturday, 18 August 2007
by Frank Haas, KB4T

Bob Ledford WA4IDI passed his Extra Class exam. Bob has been diligently plowing through the Extra Class prep book and attending the Hambone College Extra Class study group. As he left the exam session today, he said, "Look for me on the low end of the 20 meter CW sub band now." Congrats to Bob!

Jose Fernandez KI4BIE passed his Extra Class exam. Jose is another member of the Hambone College Extra Class study group. He plans to get a new call sign now. Jose has been coming out to the weekly HF Portable operations and finds the camaraderie of ham radio very rewarding.

Dave Wilkie AL7LH, Terry Nixon KI4VWR, and Jim Lainhart KI4VWK also passed their Extra Class exams today. All three are members of the Hambone College Extra Class study group. Jim just earned his Tech ticket in May. Now that all this pesky testing is done he can focus on getting his ham station setup to start working the world!

I don't have details but the test session saw 2 youngsters from Deltona pass their Tech Class exams. An unidentified husband and ife team passes exams as well.

Our thanks to the DBARA VE Team lead by Paul Milward AB4PM for conducting this test session. VEs assisting included Cliff Fraser KE4HIY, Tom Bilello K9WLF, Joe Sanders K2SAN and Rose Parrack WA1VOP. I apologize if I missed anyone.

I also apologize to Paul for stealing his thunder. As leader of the Extra Class Study Group I was pleased to see so many of that group do well today.

73,

Frank Haas KB4T
