Happy New Year, and Volunteers Needed

January 9th, 2018 by AJ4MQ

Dear DBARA Club Members,

As your newly elected DBARA Treasurer, I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you are looking forward to starting our new year of club meetings. As you most likely already know, our first meeting is next Monday, January 15th when we'll be discussing our upcoming Winter Field Days, as well as future club presentations.

At the same time, I'm taking this opportunity to remind you that you'll want to renew your annual membership, if you have not already done so. To that end, I'll be collecting your checks or cash as I welcome you to the sign-in table.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions!

73, Linda S., N9LHS
DBARA Treasurer

I would like to invite anyone who would be interested in volunteering (or otherwise) their time toward the effort of teaching or helping out the membership. If you think you might have time to join in the effort, please let us know. Either contact any of the board members, or use the contact information at the top of this web page.

Should be an exciting year. We have a renewed board of directors ready for an active year. We are planning to participate in Winter Field Day with a couple of other clubs joining in, possibly including Volusia ARES, the Flagler Palm Coast Amateur Radio Club W4FPC and I've heard C.E.R.T may be joining us as well. All are welcome to come out and participate. Later in the year, we will have our Tailgate Party, Regular Field Day, Our Second assistance in an ISS Contact from Burns Science and Technology Charter School, Club Picnic, Awards Banquet and more to be announced soon. With any luck, we will see some of our past operations come back to life, including Fox Hunting, building transmitters, Soldering circuit boards, preparing and building antennas and more!

Hope to see everyone soon!
